Worked great on Safari! These were excellent binoculars. I took them on safari in Tanzania. My primary reason for getting them was that they were compact (needed to shave weight as I was packing to also climb Mt. Kilimanjaro), well reviewed, and had good field of view and magnification for a relatively cheap price. I went with a lot of others that had binoculars and these seemed hands down the clearest and brightest.[…]

Impressive for size and price I’m no expert in binoculars – and did a fair amount or research before selecting these. Binocular reviews and comparisons all over the web. The price for these was much better than some comparable brands. I wanted lightweight, but not the tiny pocket size, for upcoming trips to Peru, India and Africa. I’m also backpacking on a couple of these excursions, and didn’t want to carry full-size.The only reason this is not getting 5 stars is that the eyepiece cover is not secure and falls off all the time. I rigged something to attach it to the frame so I don’t lose it, but it’s not very convenient.

Great binocular / terrible covers I purchased these binoculars because of size, waterproofing and after reading reviews. Took them on a 5 day horse pack trip in Yellowstone and they are superb for the cost. Not too heavy, easy to focus and easy on the eyes, with and without glasses. The only negative is the fact that the covers do not fit with the eye cover too large so it would not stay on with the binocs fully extended and the front covers look cool with they way they are connected, but they easily pop off having no snug fit. So you will have to find different covers or plan on all your lenses getting dirty from dust or the elements. The case is soft and adequate and the neck strap is ok. I purchased a chest mount strap from Cabela’s that keeps the binoculars on my chest for easy access.
